January to March 2023. Some photos of activities on site at Yeovil Railway Centre

January 2023 - The Ruston developed some noise from the vacuum pump during Santa Specials. It was discovered that the bearings had worn. Photo taken whilst vacuum pump had been removed. The opportunity was taken to replace the vanes in the pump and also investigate the battery charging fault. This turned out to be a failed regulator and a replacement has been fitted.

21 March 2023 - Lord Fisher's boiler has been freed and raised in preparation for a non-destructive test (NDT) to ascertain the remaining boiler metal thickness.
The results of which will determine the repairs required to this most expensive part of the overhaul before the engine can be returned to service.
