12 March - A cast iron water pipe developed a leak. Here a temporary repair is made pending a permanent solution is implemented.

12 March - Peckett 'Pectin'. The overhaul continues. Here an extension to the buffer can be seen. The result should be a smoother journey as the buffer will be in contact with the next vehicle rather than a gap being present.

12 March - Overhaul of the SR brakevan - still in demolition and cleaning stage! Here the internal brake column has been removed. A heavy piece of kit!

2 April -Ducket on side of brakevan (enabling guard to see forward in safety) has had a new piece of metal welded in (almost invisibly towards the bottom).

12 March - Replacement of the tubes in steam engine 'Lord Fisher' has been necessary together with some other work. A new tube is being 'swelled' to help make a tight fit in the tubeplate. Once fitted the inside will be rolled to produce a perfect match.

27 April - The Ruston now has a blown head gasket! This requires some dismantling of the engine head and the opportunity will be taken to have the injectors checked and overhauled as necessary.

A section of broad gauge rail has been recovered. Obviously used as a fence post with wire still attached.




Boarding out of new Model Railway room has been completed. Ceiling paint being applied.

18 April - overhaul of the buffers on the newly refurbished open wagon. Totally seized!

25 April - answer is to set a small fire and, when hot, gently tap the sides and top. Everything now works as it should.
