Past Time Rail ran the Dorset Coast Express from Bristol to Weymouth via Yeovil Pen Mill using 6024 Kind Edward I as motive power.

Approaching Yeovil Pen Mill on the down journey. 6024 will be removed here for the short journey to Yeovil Railway Centre at Yeovil Junction for turning and servicing. (Photo courtesy Roland Groom)

With 6024 having departed, diesel 66063 attracts interest whilst preparing to attach to the train. (Photo courtesy Roland Groom)

After detaching at Yeovil Pen Mill, the King ran to Yeovil Junction whilst the train continued to Weymouth behind a diesel. The engine was turned although due to a problem between the engine and vacuum motor on the turntable, muscle power had to be used.

Turning complete much to the relief of the pushers!!

Reversed onto the support coach in Platform 3.

As the points into Platform 3 were out of use, the King reversed back into the headshunt....whilst the Ruston diesel was used to check for any faults in the turntable vacuum system (none were found).

Now in the Middle Road ready for departure after the South West Trains 159 service to Waterloo had departed.

After running round at Yeovil Pen Mill (via the sidings), the King and support coach have just passed under the Waterloo line at Yeovil Junction and now en-route to Weymouth.
