3 October 2004. In connection with track renewal work near Gillingham, Dorset, engineering trains appeared at Yeovil Junction.

66204 had arrived overnight in Platform 3 with a long load of wagons which it ran round. Beyond the empty wagons visible are 4 wagons loaded with old track. During the morning 66202 also appeared with a rake of ex-Railtrack Autoballasters in the middle road

66202 could not clear the main line points as the train headed by 66204 fouled the head shunt. The crew then started 66204 and moved it forwards and the Autoballsters train was then able to clear the main line points.

66202 then reversed along No 1 road. Earlier in the morning a First Great Western HST had been diverted through Yeovil Junction. All South West Trains during the weekend were also diverted to run from Yeovil Junction to Yeovil Pen Mill, Westbury rejoining their usual route at Salisbury. Next weekend sees further track works!!
