First Group marked what was billed as the final 'Bucket & Spade' loco-hauled train to Weymouth by rostering 57604 'Pendennis Castle' in place of the usual DBS Class 67. An extra carriage was also added. When this extra train runs next year it will either run as Sprinter units or a HST (probably!).

Running into Yeovil Pen Mill from Weymouth. The engine was specially moved to Bristol and was crewed by an Exeter driver with 57 traction knowledge with the rostered DBS driver acting as a route conductor. The engine was worked on the rear of the Paddington-Penzance sleeper train leaving London late on Friday 4 September. On arrival at Exeter St Davids it was detached and then ran to Bristol.

A headboard was carried.

An immaculately presented locomotive!

The bodywork shone almost like a mirror!

The train leaves Yeovil Pen Mill for the last time. But 'well done' to First Group for taking the trouble to mark the occasion!
