From Friday 5 September to Monday 8 September 2014, Steam Dreams ran a special excursion to mark the 50th anniversary of the last Atlantic Coast Express. The service ran between 1926 and 1964 from Waterloo to, at its peak, 9 different destinations. More information HERE

The Battle of Britan Class locomotive 34067 'Tangmere' was at the head of the train from/to London (Victoria) with a Class 47 diesel on the rear on the down journey whilst steam ran unassisted on the return.

From Exeter St Davids to Penzance 34046 'Braunton' and 5029 'Nunney Castle' were in charge, turning at St Blazey over the weekend. For the climb from Exeter St Davids to Exeter Central 34067 was banked by 34046.

After being detached from the rear of the train, 34046 is moving off the Exmouth Junction for reversal. Incidentally Exmouth Junction was the engine's first shed after being built in 1946 (although it looked very different then!)
