September 2013 It became necessary to cure a leak in the very old cast main by inserting a new plastic tube insert.

A temporary supply was fitted before the renewal was undertaken.

Then the new pipe was threaded through the old cast iron. Here is a connector ready to be attached to a hydrant.

All was going reasonably well until the pipe would not go any further. Much measuring later (followed by even more digging) a 6 foot dog leg was found - presumably around an old structure. Another day gone!

Pipe everywhere. Good that someone knows what he is doing!

Evidence of even more digging. The bad news is that there is still another length to do (when convenient!).
