07 August 2011
Our annual Trains and Tractors Day was held today with the added bonus of a visiting Main Line Steam loco as well as another stabled. This was probably the best supported Train Day in our history with all car park space completely filled!

Prior to public running, a Driver Experience event was held - some of the tractors have arrived in the 'Wilderness'.

Some more have gathered....

....and a few more.

'Pectin' runs past 60019 'Bittern' renumbered 4492 'Dominion of New Zealand' in its Garter Blue livery.

Ron and Roger contemplate life.

5029 'Nunney Castle' races past the east end of our site with the Weymouth Coast Express.

Time to get the elevator out.

Later 'Nunney Castle' returns light engine from Weymouth.

And is turned and serviced in front of an admiring audience!

Back to Weymouth, leaving a few minutes early.

Derek wields a BBQ tool at a private party for our friends from the former 6000 Locomotive Association, former owners of 'Pectin'.

Later Paul Gould, Chairman, Yeovil Railway Centre receives a present from Brian.

And gratefully accepts on behalf of Yeovil Railway Centre, an original nameplate carried by our Peckett loco at its working place at Burntisland in Scotland. The loco was later renamed 'Pectin' during its preservation at Bulmers Cider, Hereford after an ingredient.

In due course this nameplate will be carried on one side of 'Pectin' on occasions. A question of split personalities perhaps?
