| 13 August 2014 An interesting survivor on site is the remains of a Great Western Railway milepost. This marks the mileage from London Paddington via Melksham and is alongside (we suspect) the original route of the broad gauge Clifton Maybank branch (now a track). Our running line is slightly to the north and higher. The numerals were missing but could be easily read and replaced many years ago. A spruce up is now being undertaken.
