Two Class 69's were used as power for the visit of the weedkilling train. Running as 3Q00 23.57 (9 June) Exeter Riverside to Exeter Riverside via Yeovil Junction, Yeovil Pen Mill and Dorchester Junction (reverse).

See at the (very) early hour of 4.45am near Pinhoe on the return to Exeter with 69004 leading.

Believed to be the first Class 69's on the line, these two reached Yeovil Junction (reversed) from Castle Cary on 6 June. 69003 on the rear.

The Magic Carpet was a special excursion organised by UK Railtours from London Waterloo to Exeter St Davids via Yeovil Junction both ways.

Seen approaching Yeovil Junction.




GB Railfreight locomotives 73962 'Dick Mabbutt' and 73964 'Jeanette' were at the front.




Away to Axminster (for Seaton Tramway) and Exeter St Davids.

At Pinhoe station on the return. Some 30 minutes late - stopped on Exeter bank out of St Davids. No further issues encountered fortunately.

Network Rail Video Inspection unit has run twice on Eastleigh to Chard Junction and return. This is the second return run seen at Yeovil Junction.




Comprising of ex-East Midlands DMU 153376. A 159 unit is overtaking using Platform 2.




Note the new signs promoting 'The Home of British Helicopters'.

Rail Head cleaning season has started. A unit is stabled at Platform 3 to wait for its next path.
