More progress on Lord Fisher's overhaul at Yeovil Railway Centre

Work continues apace on the restoration of Andrew Barclay 'Lord Fisher' (on loan from Barry Buckfield) to steam.

A look back at the trials and tribulations that were had with the water tank. Here we are in 2012 ever so hopeful and ready for a test....

Tank all primed and undercoated and ready to go!

The tank is moved to the car park.

Tank is lifted with 'Lord Fisher' being propelled underneath. The tank will then be lowered into place (standing well away!)....

....job done!

'Lord Fisher' is soon to be returned to the Engine Shed.

The chimney has been placed in position.

'Lord Fisher' having passed another cold exam awaits re-fixing of several items prior to a final live steam insurance test.

The first test steaming of 'Lord Fisher' was undertaken gently, only reaching a quarter of the operating pressure. Over the next few days further tests will reveal any defects to be rectified prior to final completion and a entry to public service. The launch date is planned for Sunday 16 June 2013 (all being well!).
