11 December 2018. Railway Touring Company ran their Sherborne Carol Train from London Victoria with Black 5 44871.

After coaling and detaching support coach, 44871 moves to the turntable. Vacuum pipe attached between engine and turntable ready for turning.

Trains galore! A Southern Western Railway 159 unit passes the scene en-route to Exeter St Davids.




Servicing complete. 44871 re-attaches to support coach and will then run through Yeovil Railway Centre to the east end and connect onto the coaching stock ready for the return journey.

17 December 2018 sees Black 5 44871 once again, this time heading a Steam Dreams trip from Alresford and Alton to Sherborne and Yeovil Junction.

Prior to detaching the loco and support coach, the train has to be reversed slightly to clear the points leading to Yeovil Railway Centre. Basingstoke Signalling Centre has signalled the train onto Siding 1. Class 47 at rear of train.




Once again, reversing into the Centre....

.....then onto the turntable.

This time a Class 47, 47746 'Chris Fudge 29.7.70-22.6.10' was on the rear of the train and is running round the stock. This will power the train back from Salisbury whilst 44871 returns to Southall.

20 December 2018. 35028 'Clan Line' was the power for UK Railtours version of 'Sherborne Carols'. We thought that our luck was in when the rainbow appeared but we couldn't find the elusive pot of gold!

After a push back to clear points, POB (Support Coach) and Engine were detached and reversed into Yeovil Railway Centre.
