The first visit of 6233 to Yeovil Railway Centre metals as part of the Steams Dreams Sunny South Express to Weymouth.

The train was, unfortunately, some 40 minutes late leaving Clapham Junction due to a dewirement of an electric freight near Acton in the early hours. After picking up some time it was down to 30 minutes late at one point but pathways to Weymouth are limited so the train arrived one hour down. In turn it arrived at Yeovil Junction some 40+ minutes down.

As usual this summer the sun did not shine but the heavy showers did not deter a large number of visitors greeting probably the largest engine to use the turntable (ever?).

Bit of a squeeze with the buffers overhanging the turntable at both ends. As part of the planning for a train a couple of years ago, white marks on the turntable rails had indicated where the wheels had to stop.
