As the beginning of a medium/long term project to provide a traditional signalbox to show future generations, two Signal Lever Frames has kindly been donated by National Railway Museum which are not required by them. |
10 January 2013 Blackmores of Yeovil collected the frames as part of a return trip (to minimise costs) using their specialised vehicle to get under a low bridge at York. |
The larger frame was originally is use at Rhoose Signalbox (South Wales) whilst the smaller was at Georgemas Junction (Scotland). |
14 January 2013 Even Blackmore's lorry could not get under the low bridge leading to the Centre so, in appalling weather the frames were moved round using a tractor and sledge. The frames now reside in the Engine Shed until required. |
Some other work has already been carried out and a ground signal on one of the Engine Shed roads has been put in position after refurbishment. |
