Santa Specials 14 December 2003 (more pictures added from later days)

After operating during the morning 'Pectin' was found to have a leaking tube and retired from proceedings. She was booked for a 10 year overhaul immediately after Christmas anyway. The engine has performed excellently in the 9 years or so she has been with us so far and we all look forward to another 10 years starting next Spring/Summer. All the early indications are showing that only a modest amount of work will be required unless something horrible is found......
The recently overhauled Ruston loco was called into action. A vacuum pump had very recently been fitted to enable it to haul brake van trips.
The first trip down the Branch. The engine struggled with two brake vans so later trips were made with just one van (but double the number of trips to avoid overcrowding).
'Yeo' is crewed by some very dubious characters!!
Pictures taken on the 20 and 21 December by webmaster.
Tree and replica 'Yeovil' crest on loan from John Cornelius.
Once again John Harwood operated a 'O' gauge model railway
Refreshments (Luvly Jubly!!)
Carols on high
and the band played
and Santa tried a mince pie. Looking a trifle shattered are these Santa's little helpers. What a few (very successful) days...... BACK
