15 December 2016 saw the operation of the annual London to Sherborne (and Yeovil Junction) carol train, now operated by Railway Touring Company.




Prior to the arrival of the steam train, the Network Rail Track Measurement HST is seen at Platform 1 with the 10.20am from London Waterloo with 158888 leading a 159 unit.

Both engines and support coach are detached from the train and reversed onto Yeovil Railway Centre metals. All three vehicles are separated with 44871 running to the turntable and pit area.
