Down 'Cathedrals Express' from London Victoria to Weymouth passes Dorchester South. At this stage it was running some 40 minutes late.

After leaving the coaching stock at Weymouth, 'Tornado' runs (with support coach) to Yeovil Junction and is held under the semaphore gantry awaiting clearance into the station. Due to delays incurred on the down journey, the light engine move lost its pathway and eventually arrived around 90 minutes after its booked time.

If the excitement on the steam side wasn't enough, interest was aroused by the arrival of a South West Trains 159 unit on Platform 1 coupled to a First Great Western 3 car 158 unit! This was as a result of the failure of 70000 'Britannia' at Warminster. The units were diverted from Westbury to reach Salisbury via Yeovil Pen Mill and Junction.
