34067 'Tangmere' was back in traffic after lengthy repairs. However it didn't go to plan when adhesion problems on Evershot Bank (due to drizzle) caused the engine to stall on the climb with 'Weymouth Seaside Express'. It took a further two attempts (with hand sanding of the rails) before 'Tangmere' completed the climb. After running 29 minutes late (due to an earlier signalling problem), eventual arrival was 153 minutes late at Weymouth.

In the meantime a DBS Class 66 ran from Westbury to Yeovil Pen Mill but was not required. Class 33 33029 was summoned from Bristol and ran to Weymouth and led the return journey with 'Tangmere' at the rear.
