As in previous years the engine came back to Yeovil for turning, watering, coaling and servicing (all in one hour!). Tasks complete, 'Tangmere' reverses back onto Network Rail metals ready to return to Weymouth.

16 July 2012 saw 'Tangmere' on site once again having worked light engine + support coach from Bristol in preparation for the return leg of 'Dorset Coast Express' on Thursday 19 July.

19 July 2012. One side of the engine was cleaned prior to the engine's move onto the 'big' railway. Here the other side is receiving some attention!

Many hands make engine shiny!!

Soon time to move off down to Yeovil Pen Mill (B=Branch), a run round and then down to Weymouth.

After the passengers have alighted at Weymouth, 'Bittern' has propelled the train back into Jersey sidings. Later 'Tangmere' will attach itself to the other end of the train ready for the return leg (banked as far as Dorchester South by 4464).

4464 (60019) 'Bittern' arrives in the evening having worked the down leg of Dorset Coast Express. Sidings seeing a bit of use. The South West Trains unit had recently terminated at Yeovil Junction (as timetabled) and was awaiting another unit to attach to work back to Salisbury as it had developed a fault with one of its engines.

Settling down for a week's rest!
