21 January 2010. A Network Rail owned Track Measurement Train formed of an HST operated through Yeovil Junction today. All pictures courtesy Mark Pike. |
The HST is seen at Axminster using the recently commissioned 'dynamic' loop. Note it is running on what traditionally would be the down line which is now normally used by up trains (although both lines are bi-directional). |
Recently refurbished NMT Power car No. 43062 (with No. 43013 on the rear) leads test train 1Z23, the 04.48 Old Oak Common to Basingstoke (via Yeovil/Exeter/Yeovil) into Gillingham on its return run on 21 January 2010. This is believed to be the first HST to operate between Yeovil Junction and Wilton Junction for nearly 30 years, the last time was when West of England trains were diverted by way of the LSW route in around 1982/3!! (Unless of course anyone knows different??). |
Awaiting the arrival of.... |
