25 August 2007 With the assistance of the group maintaining 50027 Lion, Fearless has been successfully started again. The battery problem which has plagued the engine has now been resolved. The engine's 40th anniversary is in early October.

We are lucky to have the help of 50027's group which contains two of Laira depots experts used to dealing with the vagaries of Class 50s. Thanks lads!!

Electrics up and running.

Many systems are OK although the engine would not take power. A broken relay has been identified and will be repaired before the next working day on her. Much more work needs to be carried out including repairing the cab ends and a repaint.
