Richard says:- 'I travelled on the 17.23 from Weymouth to Westbury this afternoon. All was going well, left on time, on time at Thornford, Then came to a stop about 400 yards from Pen Mill platforms.

After about an hour's delay, we crawled into the station, wrong platform (No 3) Train was terminated at Yeovil Pen Mill, and I believe was going back to Weymouth later. Reason for delay......all tracks under water & driver was waiting for it to go down below rail head to ensure tracks not washed away before proceeding.'

Great Western Railway Turbo 166203 going no further! Wonder what the scene was like an hour earlier during the violent thunderstorm?
