26 July 2021 Richard says:- 'I travelled on the 17.23 from Weymouth to Westbury this afternoon. All was going well, left on time, on time at Thornford, Then came to a stop about 400 yards from Pen Mill platforms. After about an hour's delay, we crawled into the station, wrong platform (No 3) Train was terminated at Yeovil Pen Mill, and I believe was going back to Weymouth later. Reason for delay......all tracks under water & driver was waiting for it to go down below rail head to ensure tracks not washed away before proceeding.' (photos courtesy Richard Abbott) |
Great Western Railway Turbo 166203 going no further! Wonder what the scene was like an hour earlier during the violent thunderstorm? |
