Stanier 8F 2-8-0 No. 48151 Gauge 'O Guild arrived at 21.20 for stabling after working a return excursion from Swanage to London as far as Salisbury.




Built in 1942 at Crewe for hauling heavy freight trains. It is the only 'freight' engine currently certified for use on the Main Line and is owned by David Smith of West Coast Railways. Withdrawn in the summer of 1968 right at the end of British Railways steam.




Came with two support coaches. 48151 was last seen at Yeovil Junction in July 1988 CLICK HERE and use 'Back Button' to return.

To effect a repair to an oilpad it was necessary to take down the left hand motion on 48151. Here a team from Carnforth are watched closely!!
