12/13 April 2008 A section of the down line near the signal box at Yeovil Junction was completely renewed. With the old track already removed, these photos illustrate the method of relaying with a convoy of trains in use. During this period buses replaced trains between Templecombe and Axminster.

Looking at the work site with Yeovil Railway Centre stock in forground. 66146 can be seen

66146 with a ballast train whilst in the background an empty train is filled with old ballast (engine unknown) prior to being taken away via Salisbury.

New ballast is energetically unloaded!!

The whole train.

A Balfour Beatty tamper waits in sidings.

66116 waits at the west end of Yeovil Junction with another ballast train.

Another view of 66116 over the turntable.

Behind 66116 was the new sleepers (no picture possible) and beyond was 66128 with another train of ballast....

....top and tailed with another 66.

Later the procession of trains moved up and 66002 'Lafarge Quorn' came into view to await its turn in the possession.

During the afternoon Bob Tucker took this photo and the following two photos of 66002.

66128 then appeared as the final train in the convoy.

66128 out of sight and 66106 dead on the rear, now in the possession and being unloaded.
