Our site is part of Yeovil Junction station which is served by South West Trains on the route London Waterloo-Salisbury-Yeovil Junction-Exeter. By road simply follow the signs to Yeovil Junction station, BA22 9UU from Yeovil Town centre or from A37 Dorchester-Yeovil road. Buses leave Yeovil Bus Station half hourly (Monday to Saturday but not Public Holidays) from 0632 until 1932 (South West Coaches 68). A special Sunday and Public Holiday service also operates (Withdrawn with effect 17/04/2011). The entrance to Yeovil Railway Centre is through the low bridge, half way up the Yeovil Junction station approach road.

Please do NOT cross any railway line to reach Yeovil Railway Centre but follow the directions above. Thank you for your co-operation.

The Shop now has a range of Model Railway items for sale and can obtain many others for collection.
The Shop is also open during visits by main line steam and Train Days. Up to date information on events is given without charge.....
WE HAVE MANY IDEAS FOR PRESENTS WITH A RAILWAY THEME FOR BOTH OLD AND YOUNG (AND THOSE IN BETWEEN).

Driver Experience
We offer good value Driver Experience events for individuals (up to 3 hours approx and great Gift idea!) or are suitable for Groups of up to 8 people (Full Day). Please get in touch if you are interested either in organising a group for a full day or perhaps preparing and driving the engine prior to one of our Train Days. 2020Our events programme for 2020 is now published (although some events have details to be added nearer the time).
Yeovil Railway Centre has, with much regret, decided that it is necessary to cancel all public events until further notice taking into account the Government advice regarding the Coronavirus pandemic. Please note that this also includes the regular opening of our Shop on Sunday mornings.

The Trustees and Volunteers are very disappointed to take this action but we will resume operations just as soon as possible. In the meantime we thank you for your understanding and stay safe.

Passengers travel in historic brake van vehicle. Please check when our Coach which is accessible via ramp for standard size Wheelchair and other users will be in use.

Trains run every 20 minutes (except for a lunch break) and visitors can enjoy unlimited trips on the day as well as on the Miniature Railway.

Today we will be showing visitors some of our signalling equipment and explain their uses. Please get in touch if you have something to lend for the day to enhance the display.

Other planned attractions include a Shop, Light Refreshments, Model Railway and exhibits and displays (including demonstrations of the turntable).

Admission (including Steam Train and Miniature Railway rides £9.00 adult for those UK taxpayers eligible and willing to add a voluntary donation to enable us to claim valuable Gift Aid (your admission is then worth £11.25), otherwise £8 adult, Children £4.50 (Gift Aid) otherwise £4.00 (aged 5-15) whilst children under 5 and members are admitted free. (Steam Train, spooky goings-on, Party time!) Event runs from 5.00pm to 9pm. (Train operates until 8.30pm)

Admission prices, including members, are £6 pre-booked, each adult/child and paid min 24 hours in advance. or £7 on the evening, each adult/child subject to still being availability as numbers will be limited. (one Under 5 will be admitted FREE with a paying adult).

Come dressed up in your scarey outfits! Prize for scariest costume! Free Horror Bag for children! Ghostly steam train rides from the haunted house into the night included......Halloween themed food on sale!!

Halloween Evening
(Steam Train, spooky goings-on, visit the Dungeon if you dare. Prizes for best costumes!) Event runs from 5.00pm to 9pm. (Train operates until 8.30pm)

Admission prices, including members, are £6 pre-booked, each adult/child and paid min 24 hours in advance. or £7 on the evening, each adult/child subject to still being availability as numbers will be limited. (one Under 5 will be admitted FREE with a paying adult).

Come dressed up in your scarey outfits! Prize for scariest costume! Free Horror Bag for children! Ghostly steam train rides from the haunted house into the night included......Halloween themed food on sale!!

This is an automated booking service and you can either print your tickets or save the booking on a mobile to show us at the gate on the evening. You can also pay at the Shop - open every Sunday 10am to noon or longer when other events are running.

Steam Train Day using Andrew Barclay 0-4-0 steam engine 'Lord Fisher' to give train rides along the 1/3rd mile of the ex-Great Western Railway Clifton Maybank branch. Passengers travel in historic brake van vehicle. Please check when our Coach which is accessible via ramp for standard size Wheelchair and other users will be in use.

Trains run every 20 minutes (except for a lunch break) and visitors can enjoy unlimited trips on the day as well as on the Miniature Railway.

Other planned attractions include a Shop, Light Refreshments, Model Railway and exhibits and displays.

Admission (including Steam Train and Miniature Railway rides £9.00 adult for those UK taxpayers eligible and willing to add a voluntary donation to enable us to claim valuable Gift Aid (your admission is then worth £11.25), otherwise £8 adult, Children £4.50 (Gift Aid) otherwise £4.00 (aged 5-15) whilst children under 5 and members are admitted free. More details will be given on arrival.

One Child (aged 5-15) is admitted FREE with a full paying adult. (Gate open at 10.30am and train rides start at 11am. Last admission 3.30pm. Close at 4pm).

Regular Train Days are held March to October.


Free parking on site (subject to availability) - go to Yeovil Junction station, BA22 9UU and turn right under the low bridge half way up the station approach road - look out for large Yeovil Railway Centre sign and arrow!






Driver Experience events prior to our Steam Train Days are available by pre-booking. See HERE for full details. Special arrangements can be made for groups of 4 to 8.
