Steam Dreams ran a steam hauled excursion from London Waterloo-Salisbury-Yeovil Junction-Yeovil Pen Mill-Weymouth-Eastleigh-Salisbury-Clapham Junction. The excursion had been fully booked and some 400 passengers joined the throng for some 50 minutes.

Originally booked for 30777 to doublehead to Weymouth from Yeovil Junction and back to Salisbury but a second steam engine could not be found at the last moment following various failures and 30777 was left to work on its own. A diesel (47760) powered the train from Yeovil to Weymouth and provided banking support out of the latter town on the return. 30777 was detached at Yeovil Junction and followed the train after turning and servicing.
