On Friday 1 June 1860 the London & South Western Railway opened from Sherborne (a terminus since 7 May 1860) to Yeovil Hendford via the Bradford Abbas Curve (Salisbury & Yeovil Railway Company). Just over a month later the railway from Yeovil Junction to Exeter Queen Street opened on 19 July 1860.

To mark the 150th Anniversary, a Festival was arranged at Yeovil Railway Centre on Saturday and Sunday 17/18 July 2010.

There are a substantial number of photos which have been divided into sections depicting the various aspects and will be added to as more photos become available (and time allows!).
