24 November 2006. The Company has acquired a Wagon Turntable. Condition will require a fair amount of patching where the turntable has been lying on the ground for 30/40 years and must be considered a longer term project. However to avoid the turntable being scrapped the decision has been taken to arrange transport to the Centre where it will become a rare exhibit it time.

23 November 2006 saw vegetation clearance to reduce hazards during the actual dismantling.....

....and moving of metal out of the way.

24 November 2006. The construction is part riveted and part bolted. Some bolts could be undone (with much grunting and muttering!) but some needed some heat to persuade them to move and some had to be burnt out as they were wasted.

Ivan collects the reusuable nuts and bolts.

The rails for the turntable can be seen in the foreground. A number of other parts will require replacement.

Evidence of the siding which was served by the turntable....

....but long ago servered....

....and the river bridge dismantled.

As the light began to fade, dismantling was complete and transport awaits.
